Tik Tok launches payment function
The Douyin（Tik Tok） payment function is officially launched in the Douyin APP. When users purchase goods in Douyin, in addition to choosing Alipay and WeChat payment, there is an additional "Tik Tok Pay" entrance.
It is reported that at present, Douyin Pay supports the binding of ten bank cards, including Agricultural Bank, Construction Bank, Bank of China, Postal Savings Bank, Bank of Communications, China Merchants Bank, etc. When using Douyin to pay for payment, the user needs to perform real-name authentication, enter the name and ID number and other information, and then bind the card. You can bind a savings card and a credit card. After the card is tied, the user can complete the payment via Douyin. payment.
According to the account service agreement of Douyin Payment, the functions of Douyin payment mainly include recharge, withdrawal, transfer and inquiry, etc. The services are provided by Wuhan Hezhong Yibao Technology Co., Ltd. After the user agrees to open Douyin payment, Wuhan Hezhong Zhongyibao collects or makes payments.
In terms of service fees, Douyin Pay now implements a free policy. When users pay for account recharge, withdrawal and transfer through Douyin, they are free of handling fees. However, it is mentioned in the Douyin payment service agreement that it does not rule out the possibility of adjusting the service fee charging standard in the future.
It is worth mentioning that if the user has no transaction record within 6 months after opening the Douyin payment, the use of the Douyin payment will be suspended, and the identity information must be re-verified when using it again.
It is reported that since ByteDance acquired Wuhan Hezhong Yibao and obtained the payment license in September last year, Douyin has continued to move in the payment business.
In November last year, ByteDance applied for the "doupay" trademark. The registrar "ename", which is commonly used to store domain names, also added a domain name named douyinpay.com; on December 30 last year, it was reported that the Beijing word Jiediao Technology Co., Ltd. has added new trademark application information for "Tikyin Payment". The international classification involves 36 categories of "Financial Property Management", and the trademark status is "Application for Registration".
According to previous reports, some insiders revealed that Douyin has replaced Pinduoduo to win the red envelope interaction rights for the 2021 Spring Festival Gala, and has already started recruiting relevant personnel. This seems to mean to a large extent that Douyin's naming of the Spring Festival Gala is to play "Tik Tok Pay".
The current financial payment market is basically monopolized by Alipay and WeChat Pay, and even the relatively background cloud QuickPass is still struggling to expand with endless subsidies. For Douyin, although the Spring Festival Gala is a good opportunity, it is still difficult to replicate the "Spring Festival Gala miracle" created by WeChat.
