Apple's first iPhone folding machine LG will participate in the development of flexible screens

According to a report from the Taiwanese website DigiTimes, Apple has commissioned LG Display to assist in the development of a flexible screen panel for the iPhone folding machine.

The report quoted industry sources as saying that LG Display is assisting Apple in the development of a flexible OLED display panel that will be applied to the iPhone, but it is unknown whether the South Korean company can become a supplier of the display panel after the development is completed.

In September last year, there was news that Samsung has become a candidate supplier for Apple's flexible OLED screens and provided a large number of flexible screen samples for Apple to test.

Therefore, it is unknown what role LG Display played in the project in this report. . At present, both Samsung Display and LG Display provide OLED screens for the iPhone, and iPhone folding machines may continue to use the screens of these two manufacturers.

A few days ago, a report quoted an analysis report of an investment institution saying that Apple will launch an iPhone with a 7-inch flexible screen as early as 2023, and it will support Apple Pencil.

The earliest rumors about the development of the iPhone folding machine can be traced back to 2016, but only in recent months have more related news flowed out.
