Xiaomi mobile phone patented design exposed, shooting 3D images is a selling point

Shooting 3D images with mobile phones is not new. In the past, LG Optimus 3D and HTC Evo 3D also have dual-lens 3D shooting functions.

Now Xiaomi seems to be ready to become the next challenger and has applied for related patents.

The website LetsGoDigital found that Xiaomi had applied for a mobile phone design patent to the World Intellectual Property Organization WIPO earlier. It can be seen from the application documents submitted by Xiaomi that each of the four corners of the back of the phone has a camera lens, which is believed to be used for shooting 3D photos and videos. 

As for the full-screen design on the front of the phone, it is estimated that the selfie lens is located under the screen, the power button and volume buttons are located on the right side of the fuselage, and the bottom has a USB-C interface, microphone and speaker grille, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

It is temporarily unknown when Xiaomi will commercialize the design and whether it has mastered the 3D shooting technology. Unlike WIPO, it usually takes about 6 months to publish the applied patents. This time Xiaomi's application was submitted in January and will be announced on February 5.
