Tim Cook recently stated in an earnings conference call that the company has not yet faced chip supply shortages in the second quarter of this year, but is expected to be affected in the third quarter, when MacBook and iPad shipments will decrease. 


In addition, Apple’s chief financial officer Luca Maestri also said that due to product supply restrictions, it is expected that the operating income for the third fiscal quarter of this year will be reduced to US$3 to 4 billion (approximately HK$23.3-31 billion), and will be increased as much as possible at this stage.
